A fine and very scarce gents Audemars Piguet dress watch in yellow gold, circa 1957. The classically styled case is crafted of solid 18kt yellow gold, measuring 34mm excluding the original unsigned crown with a snap down case back. The factory original dial features a subtle tropical patina over a satin silver finish, black printed signature and applied gold faceted batons. It remains in excellent condition showing light aging throughout. Gold baton hour and minute hands with subsidiary seconds. Signed “AUDEMARS PIGUET”, “GENÈVE”, “SWISS”.
Powering the watch is the scarce and desirable Audemars Piguet VZSS movement, an attractive 3/4 plate design known for both its robustness and accuracy. The present example remains in excellent condition. The movement features 18 jewels and is adjusted to temperatures and four positions.
