A fine and very rare gents Audemars Piguet Ultra-Thin reference 5286BA automatic wrist watch made in 1968. The 18kt yellow gold case measures 32mm excluding the crown, but thanks to its tonneau shape wears substantially larger. The case features brushed details on the top and sides and a snap back.
Original factory finished gold dial with vertical brushing and applied bar indices. Original black baton hands.
This ref. 5286BA is powered by the Audemars Piguet caliber K2120 self winding movement, based on Jaeger LeCoultre’s ground breaking ultra-thin caliber 920 measuring just 2.45mm thick. Created in 1967, this movement was the very first used in the Royal Oak. The K2120 found inside has been immaculately preserved, is running well and keeping time.
