An attractive, scarce and extremely well preserved mens Omega Seamaster watch from the family of the original owner, made circa 1952. According to his family, the he purchased the watch new while stationed in Toul-Rosiers, France with the Army in the 1950s. His family mentioned that he wasn’t the sort to spend a large sum of money on a watch, but made an exception in the case of this piece. One look and we can understand why. The attractive “beefy lug” case measures 34.5mm excluding the original signed clover-style crown. The etched markings on the case back are crisp and defined. Under the original Omega stamped crystal is a beautifully preserved two-tone honeycomb dial with black printed crosshairs and black polished machined hour markers. An inner black-printed minute track serves as chapter ring with radium lume pips marking out the cardinal hours. Original gold dauphine hands with center sweep seconds. An applied Omega logo at 12 o’clock rounds out the generous level of adornment. Signed “OMEGA”, “AUTOMATIC”, “CHRONOMETRE”, “OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED”, “SEAMASTER”, “SWISS MADE”.
Powering the watch is an immaculately preserved bumper wind Omega caliber 354 with 17 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperatures. The watch is winding, running well and keeping excellent time.
Included with the watch is the original booklet.
