A fine and very rare gents Audemars Piguet wrist watch with unique hinged lug case from 1926. One of a handful known, all of which date to 1926. 18kt yellow gold case measuring 24.5mm across excluding the original crown and 37.5mm lug to lug (lugs fully extended). Matching serial numbers on the case, dial and movement. Champlevé enamel brushed silver dial with radium filled arabic numerals and railway style minute track. Long form dial signed “AUDEMARS, PIGUET & CO, SWISS”. Original blued steel Breguet style hands. Original quick release spring bars.
The watch is in very good condition for its age with deep hallmarks and some aging and radium burn to the dial. Discoloration to the dials edge between 3 and 5:30. Additionally there is a small ding in the case back.
The original Audemars Piguet cal 9″‘ FSG 15/12 is in very good condition, running well and keeping time.
Delivered on a modern leather strap with modern buckle.
