A fine gents Vacheron Constantin dress watch with rare factory black gilt dial dating to the mid to late 1940’s.  Solid 18kt yellow gold snap-back case in the classic Calatrava style and measuring 34mm excluding the original unsigned crown.  Factory original black dial with gold gilt signature and minute track with applied machined bars in yellow gold.  Original gold baton hands and subsidiary seconds hand.  The black dial has developed a handsome tropical “gold dust” patina.  A few minor dings to case back as seen in photos.  Signed “VACHERON & CONSTANTIN”, “GENEVE”, “SWISS”.

Powering the watch is a clean Vacheron Constantin caliber 453/3C with seventeen jewels, adjusted to two temperatures.  The generously decorated movement is winding, running well and keeping time.

Delivered on a period correct solid 14kt gold bracelet.
