A gents Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic wrist watch in steel, circa late 1950s or early 1960s. This particular piece is one of the more interesting Girard-Perregaux watches we’ve seen. The 34mm sculpted tonneau-shaped steel case and radially textured dial create an aesthetic thats surprisingly contemporary with a hint of Art Deco. The case features a screw down back and is in good, honest condition with a few scratches and handling marks.  The factory original silver dial has taken on a creamy hue with age and remains in good vintage condition with a few minor imperfections. The machined hour markers along the periphery are filled with thin strips of radium luminous, as are the original silver dauphine hands. The dial is signed “Girard-Perregaux, GYROMATIC, SWISS”.
Inside the watch is a clean Girard-Perregaux auto-winding movement with 17 jewels. The watch is winding, running well and keeping good time.
