A fine and attractive gents Gubelin wristwatch in yellow gold, circa 1950’s. The case remains full and thick, measuring 30mm at its narrowest point. Watches of similar design were dubbed “cioccolatone” due to their resemblance to a small piece of chocolate. Attractive brushed silver and satin white two tone dial in excellent condition with applied Breguet style numerals in gold marking the cardinal hours, the remaining marked by applied pyramids. Signed “GÜBELIN”, “SWISS”.
Hand winding movement with 17 jewels signed ‘GÜBELIN’ in excellent condition. Although its service history is unknown the watch is winding, running well and keeping excellent time.
Delivered on a modern brown leather strap with modern gold plated buckle.
