A gents Audemars Piguet “disco” wrist watch with concentrically machined bezel and yellow gold case, circa 1962. AP made several variations of “disco” style watches, all characterized by their wide saucer-like bezels. This example features a snap back case in 18kt yellow gold measuring 32mm in diameter excluding the original crown. The original champagne colored satin dial features applied gold hour markers, gold baton hands and subsidiary seconds and displays minor wear to the edges. Signed “AUDEMARS, PIGUET, GENEVE, SWISS”.
The original Audemars Piguet caliber 2001 features 18 jewels and is adjusted to four positions and temperatures. Although service history is unknown, the movement is excellent condition, running well and keeping time.
Delivered on a modern brown lizard strap with modern gold-plated buckle.
