A rare vintage gents Audemars Piguet tonneau wrist watch in steel, circa 1972 with original steel buckle. The reference 5369 was designed in the early 1970’s by the legendary watch designer Gerald Genta of Royal Oak and Nautilus fame.
The tonneau shaped case (33.5mm excluding crown / 40mm lug to lug) features a satin brushed finish on the top and sides with a high polished bevel separating the two. The innovative case features a three part design that seals the movement from the elements without the need for a screw down back. The elegant satin silver dial is factory original with black painted applied baton hour markers and is signed “AUDEMARS PIGUET”, “GENÈVE”, “SWISS”. Original black painted stick hands and center sweep seconds. Near mint unpolished condition from case to dial.
Original Audemars Piguet caliber 2002 is clean, running well and keeping time.
