A gents wristwatch by Longines circa 1950. The unpolished 14kt yellow gold case measures 34mm in diameter excluding the original unsigned crown, and features thick, rounded lugs. It’s unique shape lends it a larger more modern wrist presence.
A beautiful two tone finish dial marking the time with gold roman numeral applied indices and alternating gold raised dots. Black printed cross hairs and “LONGINES” with their signature winged hourglass logo in gold applied beneath. The original factory finish has developed a light even patina. Original gold hour and minute and sub seconds hands.
The original auto winding Longines cal 22A is clean, running well and keeping time and features a beautiful decorative perlage.
From Longines archives:
Originally, the serial number 8’421’856 identifies a Longines mechanical self-winding movement, caliber 22A. It was invoiced on 24 April 1952 to the company Longines-Wittnauer, which was at that time our agent for the USA.
The other parts of the watch were produced locally under license from Longines. Unfortunately, since the relevant archives are not in our possession, we are unable to provide any further information on your model.
Watch will be delivered on a light brown suede strap with modern gold plated buckle.
As with all Stetz & Co. timpieces, this watch includes a full one year warranty.
*Due to the sensitive nature of vintage watches, this watch should be treated as though not water resistant, even if marked as being so.
