This large time only reference 2272 -3 Omega wrist watch embodies everything we love about 1930-40’s Omegas in a size fit for the modern wrist. Watches of this size were considered flamboyant at a time when most gents watches were sized at a conservative 30 to 32mm.
The original steel case is unpolished and measures 37.5mm in diameter excluding the original unsigned crown. Small nicks and scratches throughout but the original faceting of the lugs and case has been preserved. Small gouge present on the end of the lower right hand lug.
An original finish multi-tone dial with stylized arabic numerals lends a distinct art deco feel, with raised silver dots marking the minutes. Silver feuille style hour and minute hands, and sub second hand. Sub seconds dial engine turned with concentric circles.
Condition of the dial is overall good for its age. Spotting is present and concentrated around 8-9 o’clock. Slight crazing to the numerals with minor print loss to the ‘4’ and ‘9’.
This Omega 2272 -3 contains its original engine, a caliber 30T2. The movement is well preserved, running smooth and keeping time.
Watch will be delivered on light brown distressed leather strap pictured.
As with all Stetz & Co. timepieces, this watch includes a full one year warranty.
*Due to the sensitive nature of vintage watches, this watch should be treated as though not water resistant, even if marked as being so.
