A rare gents Omega 2374 from 1943.  This watch carries the distinction of housing not only one of the first automatic movements produced by Omega, but the flattest automatic produced in series in the 1940’s.  At 35mm it is an excellent example of an oversized watch of the period.  Only 146,200 of the reference CK 2374 were produced.  The stainless steel case is in remarkable condition and appears unpolished, with sharp edges and full, thick lyre shaped lugs.

The original two tone dial and luminous has developed a deep, anthracite patina with original metallic two tone silver finish visible underneath.  Military inspired art deco arabic indices with faded railroad minute track.  Blued steel hands show light oxidation and the hour and minute hand have been relumed.

The Omega Caliber 30.10 ‘bumper’ was groundbreaking technology in the 1940’s and as stated above was one of the thinnest automatic movements in production at the time.  Despite it’s age, this example is running smoothly and is keeping time.

This Omega CK 2374 is delivered on a modern leather strap with steel buckle.
