THE STORY
Omega launched the Seamaster in 1948 to commemorate its 100th anniversary, and today it remains the brands oldest line still in production. It was an improvement on traditional watch construction with its robust water resistant case and range of high quality movements. The watches could be had in a multitude of case sizes and styles, dial colors and layouts, and with or without chronometer certification.
THE WATCH
An early gents Omega Seamaster 2576 from 1952. The screw back case is solid stainless steel, measures 34.5mm in diameter excluding the original signed crown and is in overall good condition with moderate wear throughout. Original factory finish silver dial with interesting luminous layout. Both the dial and original silver dauphine hands retain their original radium luminous compound.
The Omega caliber 342 bumper automatic movement is running well and keeping time.
We’ve paired this Omega Seamaster 2576 with a modern leather strap and steel buckle.
