A beautiful 1920’s 8 day Swiss desk clock with Guilloché and enamel decorated sterling silver surround fit to a shallow cut crystal jar.  Guilloché refers to the process of carving geometric patterns in metal using a specialized lathe or rose engine.  The clock is hallmarked “HM” for English silversmith Henry Matthews with Birmingham “Anchor”, the English “Lion” denoting sterling silver and “A” date mark.  Aged ivory colored dial has a pleasant patina and matte finish.  “8 Days”, “SWISS MADE” printed in black.  Applied Breguet style arabic indices with polished gold finish.  Polished brass bezel measuring 49mm across.  Blued steel hands.  The clock winds and runs smoothly.
The clock measures an overall 120mm with the silver lid measuring 84mm.
